Caitlan, Ian and I went to Mass at St. William while Kyle drove off to Huntington, WV to pick up Tim and Sarah, Caitlan’s friends from Oxford. They had been in the states visiting friends in Pennsylvania since December 17th. Now they will be in Kentucky for Kyle and Caitlan’s wedding. Brendan and Kara slept […]

We celebrated Hayley Estelle’s graduation at Eaglenest. Jeanne and Cliff had lots of good food and grilled hamburgers and dogs in the evening. We got to see the Hellyer family and lots of Clan. Here’s the graduate with Jerome, Janet and sweet Juliana.

Monday saw me back to school, and since report cards are coming out, I was very busy all week. As is my wont, I procrastinated over the break and did not grade all the library folders that I should have. So this week saw me playing “catch-up.” On Monday night Jerry came to Kelley Ridge, […]

Jeanne, Mombo, and I made an appointment yesterday to see Cabinhood, Jeanne and Cliff’s log cabin that they sold in order to move to Danville about 10 years ago. The man who lives there now had a motorcycle accident and needs to sell the place. It has a barn, a detached garage, two stocked ponds, […]

Well, there was the wonderful trip to Hawaii. Then the summer turned into “moving the kids.” We came back, had a wonderful wedding celebration with Michelle and Nic, and then went through things in the basement so that Ian could gather his stuff into one room before returning to Hawaii for the last time. We […]

Yesterday was not a happy day, at least not at first. I had to take off work to go home and search out all my info on what was in my stolen purse so that I could cancel and/or report everything. But somewhere in the interim, Dana called me to say that Lee had two […]

Just a quick summary. Friday night I went to Kelley Ridge and fixed tomato bisque soup, heart-shaped grilled pimento cheese sandwiches, and “janet salads” for the groupies. It turned out to be only Beth, Martha, and me, but it was very intimate and nice. We toasted each other with Valentine champagne flutes and peach sparkling […]

Okay, the bad luck started when I went to school on a day that school was closed. I thought I was on a phone tree that would call me, but my branch must have broken off. That night I woke up with what felt like a boulder in the middle of my stomach, and I […]

Tea is so very fine. It all started with Verla and me when the kids were young, and we decided we liked teapots and wanted to make tea cozies. Caitlan liked to collect little tea sets, but the most amazing tea set was the beautiful water blue one that was Mombo’s when she was little. […]
